Terms of participation in GIIG LLC events

1. What an event is

An event is an online design competition. Participants work on their own machines; there is nowhere to travel to. The brief, the dates and the prize are described on that event's page. The schedule and the announcement of the winner run in the participants' channel.

2. Registration fee

Some events are free; others charge a fee. Which it is appears on the event's page, and the amount and currency are shown before you pay.

The fee is not a ticket and not payment for a seat with the jury. It is a statement of intent: free registrations often do not turn up, and a prepared brief is wasted on them. The fee is not a donation and is not tax-deductible.

3. Taking part as a group

Groups of ten or more pay less per person. Even so:

A group is a price, not a team. It carries no advantage in judging.

4. Who may take part

Anyone aged 18 or over. If you are under 18 you may take part with a parent's or guardian's consent. Nationality and residence do not matter. The organiser's staff and members of the jury do not compete.

5. Rights in your work

You keep the rights to what you submit. By submitting, you grant the organiser a non-exclusive right to show it — on the site, in the channel, in reports about the event — with your name on it.

If your work is chosen as the winner, making it is agreed with you separately and requires your written consent. We manufacture and sell nothing without it.

6. Prize

The jury decides the winner. The prize is described on the event's page, is awarded in kind, and is not exchangeable for money. The organiser may substitute a prize of equal value if the original becomes unavailable. Prizes and materials may be provided by the event's sponsors.

7. Changes and cancellation

Dates may move; any change is announced in the participants' channel and on the site. If the event is cancelled or rescheduled and the new date does not suit you, the fee is refunded in full — see the refund policy.

8. Conduct

Plagiarism, harassment and interfering with other participants are grounds for removal from the event without a refund. That is the only case in which we keep a fee.

9. Liability and law

The organiser is not responsible for connection problems on the participant's side or for the acts of third-party services (the payment provider, messengers). The organiser's liability is in any case limited to the fee you paid. These terms are governed by the law of the State of New Mexico, USA.

10. Data

We collect what you type into the application form and use it only to run the event. Payment details are handled by the payment provider; we neither see nor store them. No lists, no passing anything to third parties.
